Memorial Giving

Helping a loved one’s legacy live on is what happens when memorial donations are designated to Bread for Life. Honor the memory of your loved ones by making a donation to Bread for Life in their name or ask for donations to Bread for Life in their honor.  Your funeral director can facilitate this or call our office at 860-276-8389 for more information.

Sometimes an obituary will suggest that contributions be made in a loved one’s name in a charity of your choice. Bread for Life is grateful for any memorial donations.

All memorial donations will be recognized with a letter to the family letting them know that a donation has been made to Bread for Life in their loved one’s memory. This letter includes a sentiment of sympathy as well as recognition that their loved one’s memory will live on through a donation in their memory. The donor’s name will be shared with the family in this acknowledgement letter but not the amount of the gift (unless donor requests that gift amount is shared).

Please include the following information so that a letter of sympathy and memorial donation acknowledgment can be mailed to the family of the loved one being remembered:

  1. name of the deceased
  2. the name and address of the person who should receive the letter indicating that a memorial donation has been made for their loved one

In addition, memorial donations will be recognized through letter to the donor as memorial donations are tax-deductible.

Memorial donations may be made online (follow up with an email with information indicating memorial information above) or may be mailed to Bread for Life, PO Box 925, Southington, CT 06489.

Commemorative Giving

Celebrate a birthday, anniversary, holiday and other special dates in a meaningful way with a commemorative gift to Bread for Life. What a great way to mark special occasions for the person who has everything. Knowing that instead of a gift they don’t need, they are making a difference for needing people in our community, is a great way to celebrate a special person.

Please call the Bread for Life office at 860-276-8389 if we can be of assistance to help you honor someone in this special way.

Commemorative gifts will be recognized to the honored person with a special occasion handcrafted card. These special cards will also note that a donation has been made to the person on their special occasion and will list the donor name. Gift amount will only be shared at the request of the donor.

Please include the following information when making a commemorative gift:

  • name and address of the honored person
  • occasion (birthday, anniversary, retirement, etc)

In addition, commemorative donations will be recognized through letter to the donor as commemorative donations are tax-deductible.

Commemorative donations may be made online (follow up with an email with information indicating commemorative information above) or may be mailed to Bread for Life, PO Box 925, Southington, CT 06489
