Sikhs Continue Generosity to Bread for Life

For the past several years, the Sikhs have been purchasing food for Bread for Life, which enables the organization to continue to feed those struggling to make ends meet in times of want. The Sikhs involved are primarily members of the CT Gurdwara Nanak Darbar temple located on West Street in Southington.

To best provide the items Bread for Life needs, they first receive a list of goods that are used daily at the soup kitchen in preparing the weekday meals for the hungry in Southington including the homeless, seniors and homebound. Shortly before Thanksgiving, they shopped and then delivered several hundred pounds of nonperishable food to Bread for Life’s storage facility.

“The Sikhs are a giving group that wants to make a difference in feeding the hungry,” said Eldon Hafford, executive director of Bread for Life. “Without such support, we could not do all that we continue to do day after day, year after year. They help make it all happen.”
