Letter Carriers’ Drive Set for May 9 to Aid Residents in Need

The National Association of Letter Carriers and United Way of Southington are sponsoring the annual Letter Carrier’s Food Drive on Saturday, May 9. This is one of the major food collections for Southington residents in need.

Food Items needed include peanut butter, macaroni & cheese, tuna fish, canned soups, canned fruits and vegetables, boxed cereal, jelly and children’s snacks.

Residents are asked to place their nonperishable items in bags or boxes near their mailboxes on Saturday, May 9.

Donations will be collected by a postal worker or United Way of Southington volunteers. Food donations will be delivered to the YMCA Learning Center at 30 High St. between the hours of 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

All food will be sorted and equally distributed to the following agencies: Bread for Life, Southington Community Services and the Tabernacle Food Program.
