Bread for Life is proud to name Bob and Karen Jankavich the volunteers of the month for August. They have both made a significant impact at Bread for Life throughout their over six years here delivering meals to our homebound clients.

What brought you to Bread for Life?

We attended an Open House event at Bread for Life in 2017. We knew then that we wanted to offer our time to do some volunteer work. We learned about the volunteer opportunities at that open house and we started a few weeks later.

What do you do currently at BFL?

We started our volunteering service with making meal deliveries to homebound clients. We have been doing that ever since 2017

Favorite BFL memory?

We have gotten close to so many of the BFL clients over the years. We feel like they have become “family” to us. We will treasure those memories.

Impact volunteering has had on you?

Our volunteer work here at BFL as well as the volunteering we have done for MidState Medical, AARP and Southington Community Services has reinforced just how very blessed we are and how important it is to help those in need and to give back to our community in a meaningful way.
